Rajni dialogs

Super Star Rajinikanth’s films are known for their “punch” dialogues. These are rhyming lines of dialogue delivered by the Rajinikanth to indirectly express his principles or position on political issues. Tamil magazines sometimes conduct competitions to predict possible punch dialogues for his forthcoming films. These dialogues are repeated many times in his movies and most of these have significance to the political situation at the time of release of relevant movies.

Listed below are some notable “punch” dialogues:

Moondru Mugam (1982)

• Ekambaram: “Ekambaramnu sonna vayithula irukura kozhandhai kooda vaaya moodum.” (?????????: “??????????? ??????, ????????
  ???????? ??????? ??? ???? ??????”) – “Say the name ‘Ekambaram’ and even an unborn child will shut its mouth and hush up.”
• Alex Pandian: “Adhe kozhandhai kitta Alex Pandiyannu sonna, innoru kaiyale avanga amma vaayayum moodum!” ( ??????? ?????????:
  “??? ????????????? ??????? ??????????? ??????, ??????? ?????? ????? ????? ???????? ???????? ??????”) – “Well, if you say the name
  ‘Alex Pandian’ to that same unborn child, it will even close its mother’s mouth with its other hand!”

Annamalai (1992)

• “Naan solrathaiyum seiven, sollathathiyum seiven.” (???? ????????????? ????????, ????????????? ????????) – “I will do what I
  say, I will also do what I don’t say.”

Basha (1995)

• “Naan oru dhadavai sonna nooru dhadavai sonna madhiri.” (???? ??? ???? ???????? ???? ???? ????? ??????) – “If i say it once,
  I’ve said it a hundred times.”

Muthu (1995)

• “Naan eppa varuven, eppadi varuvennu yarukkum theriyadhu, aana varavendiya neratthil correct-aga varuven.” (???? ????
  ???????, ?????? ????????? ?????????? ????????, ??? ?????????? ????????? ??????? ???????) – “When I will arrive, or how I will
  arrive, nobody will know, but I will arrive when I ought to.”

Arunachalam(1997)

• “Andavan solran. Arunachalam seiran.” (??????? ????????, ??????????? ????????) – “God tells, Arunachalam does.”

Padayappa (1999)

• “En vazhi ? thani vazhi.” (??? ???; ??? ???) – “My way is a unique way.”

Baba (2002)

• “Khatham, gatham.” (?????? ????) – “The past is past.”

Shivaji(2007)

• “Chuma adhurudalla”

Human feelings during War

Look carefully at the B-17 and note how shot up it is - one engine dead, tail, horizontal stabiliser and nose shot up. It was ready to fall out of the sky. (This is a painting done by an artist from the description of both pilots many years later.) Then realise that there is a German ME-109 fighter flying next to it. Now read the story below. I think you'll be surprised.....

 
Charlie Brown was a B-17 Flying Fortress pilot with the 379th Bomber Group at  Kimbolton , England . His B-17 was called 'Ye Old Pub' and was in a terrible state, having been hit by flak and fighters. The compass was damaged and they were flying deeper over enemy territory instead of heading home to Kimbolton.  

  
After flying the B-17 over an enemy airfield, a German pilot named Franz Steigler was ordered to take off and shoot down the B-17. When he got near the B-17, he could not believe his eyes. In his words, he 'had never seen a plane in such a bad state'. The tail and rear section was severely damaged, and the tail gunnerwounded.. The top gunner was all over the top of the fuselage.  The nose was smashed and there were holes everywhere.  

  
Despite having ammunition, Franz flew to the side of the B-17 and looked at Charlie Brown, the pilot. Brown was scared and struggling to control his damaged and blood-stained plane.

Aware that they had no idea where they were going, Franz waved at Charlie to turn 180 degrees. Franz escorted and guided the stricken plane to, and slightly over, the North Sea towards  England . He then saluted Charlie Brown and turned away, back to  Europe .  When Franz landed he told the CO that the plane had been shot down over the sea, and never told the truth to anybody. Charlie Brown and the remains of his crew told all at their briefing, but were ordered never to talk about it.  
  
More than 40 years later, Charlie Brown wanted to find the Luftwaffe pilot who saved the crew. After years of research, Franz was found. He had never talked about the incident, not even at post-war reunions. 

  
They met in the  USA  at a 379th Bomber Group reunion, together with 25 people who are alive now - all because Franz never fired his guns that day.

When asked why he didn't shoot them down, Stigler later said, "I didn't have the heart to finish those brave men.  I flew beside them for a long time.  They were trying desperately to get home and I was going to let them do that.  I could not have shot at them.  It would have been the same as shooting at a man in a parachute." 

 
Both men died in 2008. 

Don't Lie to your Mother

A Mom comes to visit her son Kumar for dinner.....who lives with a girl roommate Sunita. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty Kumar's roommate was.

She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.
Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Kumar and his roommate than met the eye.

Reading his mom's thoughts, Kumar volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Sunita and I are just roommates." About a week later, Sunita came to Kumar saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver plate. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" Kumar said ,"Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."

So he sat down and wrote :

Dear Mother:

I'm not saying that you 'did' take the silver plate from my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the silver plate.. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.

Love, Kumar

Several days later, Kumar received an email from his Mother which read

Dear Son:

I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Sunita, and I'm not saying that you 'do not' sleep with Sunita. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the silver plate by now under the pillow...

Concept of Mortality

Once an old man was travelling by train on a pilgrimage to Brindavan. At night, whilst he was asleep, his wallet fell from his pocket. A co-passenger found it the next morning and enquired as to whom the wallet belonged. The old man said it was his. A picture of Sri Krishna inside the wallet was proof that the wallet really belonged to him.

The old man then began to relate the story of the wallet. He soon had a group of eager listeners around him. Lifting up the purse for all to see, the old man said: This purse has a long history behind it. My father gave it to me years ago when I was a mere schoolboy. I kept my little pocket money in it and also a photograph of my parents.

Years passed. I grew up and began studying at university. Like every youth, I became conscious of my appearance. I replaced my parents’ photograph with that of my own and I would look at it often. I had become my own admirer.

Then came marriage. Self-admiration gave way to the consciousness of a family. Out went my own picture and I replaced it with that of my wife’s. During the day I would open the wallet many times and gaze at the picture. All tiredness vanished and I would resume my work with enthusiasm.

Then came the birth of my first child. What a joy I experienced when I became a father! I would eagerly rush home after work to play with my little baby. Needless to say, my wife’s picture had already made way for the child’s.

The old man paused. Wiping his tearful eyes, he looked around and said in a sad voice: Friends, my parents passed away long ago. My wife too died five years ago. My son- my only son- is now married. He is too busy with his career and his family. He has no time for me. I now stand on the brink of death. I do not know what awaits me in future. Everything I loved, everything I considered my own, has left me.

A picture of Lord Krishna now occupies the place in my wallet. I know He will never leave me. I wish now that I had kept HIS picture with me right from the beginning! He alone is true; all others are just passing shadows.

Sri Sarada Devi, the holy mother, says: Don’t be afraid my child, these earthly ties are transitory. Today they seem to be the be-all and end-all of life, and tomorrow they vanish. Your real tie is with God. God is one’s very own. It is the eternal relationship. He is ever looking after you. Call on the Lord who pervades the entire universe. He will shower His blessings upon you.

Your wealth will remain on earth; your cattle will remain in the stables, your wife will come till the entrance door, your relatives and friends will come till the cremation ground, your body will accompany you till the funeral pyre, but on the way beyond this life only your Karmas will accompany you.
